What does it mean when a little bit of blood comes out of your vagina a week after you got your period?
Dear Gentle Reader,
A one time spotting of blood is not worrisome. It would warrant further attention if you are sexually active and not using protection. In general, there can be multiple causes of spotting between menses. It often has to do with hormonal changes which can be influenced by stress (it is Finals Week), weight changes, forgetting or being late with taking OCPs (oral contraceptive pills), and a host of other causes. If this spotting continues it would be prudent to make an appointment to see your health care provider, or a provider at the Student Health & Counseling Center.
