  • Job Seekers

    You are invited to come speak with businesses from a variety of industries to network and learn about full-time, part-time, internship, and seasonal positions. 

    All UAA and community members that are job searching are welcome to attend, free of charge!

    Make a great first impression. Be sure to come professionally dressed (see image below) with multiple copies of your resume to give to employers! Do your research on the businesses beforehand and prepare appropriate questions for their representatives.

     2018 Speed Resume Review canceled

    Our 2018 UAA Speed Resume Review that was scheduled for Thursday, February 15th has been canceled due to lack of employer registrations.

    Employer Registration for our 2018 UAA City-Wide Career & Job Fair is open in UAA Handshake.

    Please know the attending representatives' meal preferences (e.g. meat or vegetarian) before beginning the registration form.

    To speed up the approval process, please include your company's/organization's full address that matches your company's active or good standing business license to your company's/organization's Handshake profile.

    UAA Career Exploration & Services will provide the following for this career fair: 

    • 1 table (5' x 3') and table skirt
    • 2 chairs
    • Lunch for up to 2 representatives*
    • Reserved employer parking lot
    • Ability to select table location (access to electricity and space for backdrop displays dependent on the table you/your colleagues select)
    • Associated career fair materials and advertising
      - Discounts on ads in The Northern Lights (UAA school newspaper)

    *NOTE: 3-5 attending representatives = an additional $25 per person 
    An additional representative is a 3rd, 4th, or 5th representative attending the career fair for 3 hours or more and/or expecting a lunch and chair. 

    Focus: Recruiting UAA students, UAA alumni, and community members for current, spring, or summer employment and internship opportunities
    Approximate capacity: 90 businesses Approximate number of job seekers attended in 2016: 2,500

    • $325 Fee: Valid from January 8, 2018 until 5:00 pm (AKST) February 21, 2018
        • $25 off Non-Profit/Government Agency Discount offered with valid Tax ID# provided in the registration form
        • $25 off Loyalty Discount offered to employers that attended our 2017 UAA Fall Career Fair
        • Both discounts can be used if your company/organization applies to both discounts.

    After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email with further event details and payment instructions. 
    The table selection email will be sent separately in order of registration. 

     

    "Walk-In"/Same Day Employers

    Employers that are not registered for the 2018 UAA City-Wide Career & Job Fair and show up the day of the career fair (Thursday, February 22, 2018) still wanting to participate, will receive the base fee ($325) and an additional "Walk-In"/Same Day Participation Fee ($75) for a total of $400. An invoice will be created and emailed to a representative for the organization/company after the day of the event.

  • FREE Parking Lots

    JOB SEEKERS

    Only the following lots are FREE to park in on Thursday, February 22nd from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (AKST) courtesy of UAA Career Exploration & Services (CES). 

    • South Parking Lot (closest to the UAA Bookstore/Student Union entrance) 
    • West Campus Central Lot 
    • North Lot 
    • West Lot 
    • Health Sciences Building Lot (across Providence Drive)

    Parking regulations (including meters, fire lanes, handicapped spaces, other reserved parking, etc.) are in effect during this event. Violations may result in ticketing by UAA Parking Services. Do NOT park in the Brown Permit Required spots with signs stating: Parking for Maintenance & Vendor Vehicles Only, 2 HR Limit.

    The UAA Career Exploration & Services does not assume responsibility for parking charges incurred because a vehicle was parked illegally or in a lot that is not indicated as a Waived-Fee parking lot.

    EMPLOYERS

    A reserved Employer Lot will be available the day of the fair. Please refer to the "2018 UAA City-Wide Career & Job Fair - FREE Parking Instructions & Unloading" email that will be sent to you from handshake@mail.joinhandshake.com on Monday, February 19th for more information.
