The USUAA Mabil Duir Leadership Scholarship is awarded to UAA students who have strengthened student life through leadership and involvement within the UAA campus community. Up to five scholarships of $1000 each are awarded each fall and spring semester.

VOTE in the UAA General Election 

Election Dates: November 8 - 9, 2016

Cast your vote in the UAA General Election for Fall 2016. This election will decide an amendment to the USUAA Constitution and determine multiple Delegate positions:

  • Elect up to 14 Delegates to join USUAA. Two (2) Delegates will be elected to represent each College: The College of Arts & Sciences, The College of Business & Public Policy, The College of Education, The College of Health, The Community Technical College, The College of Engineering, and the Graduate School.
  • Elect two (2) Delegates each to represent Concert Board, Green Fee Board, and Media Board.

HOW TO VOTE: Polling stations will be located in the Student Union, Rasmuson Hall, and the Social Sciences Building from 9am - 8pm on November 8 & 9. Online voting will also be available at www.uaa.alaska.edu/life starting on November 8, 2016

HOST A POLLING STATION: Student Clubs and organizations can earn up to $500 by hosting a polling station on campus during the election. See the Polling Station Commissioner Application for more details. The sign-up deadline is: Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 5:00pm. Submit completed applications to the Student Life and Leadership Office in the Student Union, Room 218. Or, email to kecrow@alaska.edu.

USUAA Preamble

We, the members of the Union of Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage, in order to represent student interests, needs, and welfare within the university community; to supplement and complement education on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus; to provide for the expression of student opinion and interests to the community at large; to protect the rights of the students herein stated; and to promote an understanding of the concept of self-governance, do affirm and establish this Constitution of the Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage. 

Student Government Fee

Every semester, USUAA collects the Student Government fee from students taking on-campus classes. This fee goes towards coordinating USUAA activities and events, representing student views and experiences by advocating to the UA Board of Regents and to the Alaska State Legislature, formulating policies and procedures regarding student life, and addressing academic concerns on behalf of all student members. All students who have paid the Student Government fee are considered members of USUAA and are entitled to all of it's services for that particular semester. The Student Government fee is calculated at $1.00 per credit, up to 12 credits. The minimum fee is $3.00 and the maximum fee is $12.00.

USUAA Assembly Meetings

USUAA Assembly meetings are held on a weekly basis, except during the summer semester. The purpose of the Assembly meetings is to present and act upon legislation. USUAA Assembly meetings are open to all students, staff, and to the general public.
