Union of Students
We, the members of the Union of Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage, in order to represent student interests, needs, and welfare within the university community; to supplement and complement education on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus; to provide for the expression of student opinion and interests to the community at large; to protect the rights of the students herein stated; and to promote an understanding of the concept of self-governance, do affirm and establish this Constitution of the Students of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Student Government Fee
Every semester, USUAA collects the Student Government fee from students taking on-campus classes. This fee goes towards coordinating USUAA activities and events, representing student
views and experiences by advocating to the UA Board of Regents and to the Alaska State
Legislature, formulating policies and procedures regarding student life, and addressing
academic concerns on behalf of all student members. All students who have paid the
Student Government fee are considered members of USUAA and are entitled to all of
it's services for that particular semester. The Student Government fee is calculated
at $1.00 per credit, up to 12 credits. The minimum fee is $3.00 and the maximum fee
USUAA Assembly Meetings
USUAA Assembly meetings are held on a weekly basis, except during the summer semester. The purpose of the Assembly meetings is to present and act upon legislation. USUAA Assembly meetings are open to all students, staff, and to the general public.
