BA Exploratory Requirements

The Exploratory option is a temporary major declaration status that allows students to explore who they are, investigate academic programs, that allows students to explore who they are, investigate academic programs, and examine the connection between majors and careers. Students with Exploratory majors are assigned to transition advisors located in the University Hub (access in the lower level of the Student Union) who specialize in helping students select majors that are compatible with their interests and abilities. The My Major Discovery Program is also available to students with Exploratory majors. 

General Education Requirements

 

Tier I
Basic College Level Skills

  • Oral Communications (one course)
  • Quantitative Skills (one course)
  • Written Communication Skills (two courses)

Tier II
Disciplinary Areas

  • Fine Areas (one course)
  • Humanities (two courses)
  • Natural Sciences (two courses, one must include a lab)
  • Social Sciences (two courses from different subjects that are outside the declared major)

Tier III
Integrative Capstone 

  • The Capstone course is selected from an approved list. These courses focus on integrating knowledge gained through the study of at the GERs as it relates to understanding the realities and problems of the 21st Century.
