  • New Student Orientation
    New Student Orientation offers three programs designed to assist
    you through the process of preparing to attend UAA and reaching your final academic goal. If you need assistance with your admissions process, finding financial aid, scheduling a meeting with your academic advisor, applying for on- campus housing, purchasing a parking permit, etc. at UAA, our staff can assist you.

  • Student Recruitment
    Recuiters work directly with high school students and counselors, attend college fairs, schedule high school visits and provide regular communication to counselors both in and out of Alaska. The work with parents of future students with the goal of increasing parent involvement in student decisions to attend UAA.

  • Exploratory & Non-Degree Seeking Advising
    Transition Advisors are here to support students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an undeclared major, non-degree seeking students, prospective students uncertain about their choice of degree program and/or major, and re-entry students uncertain about their career path. Transition Advisors are dedicated to supporting prospective, new and current students from entry into UAA until they declare a major.


  • UA Scholars

    The Scholars @UAA Program seeks to orient and advise recipients of the UA Scholars and Alaska Performance Scholars Awards to endure a successful transition to college. We provide student support and foster an inclusive environment where all students are valued. We educate scholars on how to manage their award and persist in college towards graduation.

  • Mapworks
    Mapworks is a student success and retention tool linking students with the individualized resources they need, when they need them. Mapworks strives to: 
    • Improve students ability to academically succeed in college
    • Increase students chances of successfully graduating 
    • Introduce students to peers, faculty and staff who can assist students transition to college life
    • Connect students to the amazing resources available to them across campus 


  • TRIO Programs

    TRIO programs are grant funded through the United States Department of Education and are designed to help students enter into and complete post-secondary education.
