The UAA Faculty and Staff Insight Survey was conducted in November 2012. A total of 1,292 faculty, staff, and administrators participated in the survey, for a 47% response rate. Thank you for taking the time to contribute feedback about your experience working at UAA. Your responses will help us learn what we're doing well at what we can do better.

The initial overall results are available below. More detailed data are being compiled and analyzed and will be disseminated when they are complete. Stay tuned for more information.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions (updated from the original survey announcement in 2012)


Q: What is the Faculty and Staff Insight Survey?
A: The survey was the first university-wide faculty and staff survey since 2003 regarding job satisfaction. It was an opportunity for faculty and staff to provide valuable feedback about their experience working at UAA.

Q: How was the survey designed?
A: ModernThink and the Chronicle of Higher Education partnered to develop the "Great Colleges to Work For" survey. UAA worked with ModernThink to customize the standard survey by adding questions on topics such as sustainability and increasing the survey pool to include all faculty and staff.

Q: Who was invited to complete the survey?
A: All full time and part time faculty and staff, including adjuncts and temporary employees, were eligible to take the survey (excluding student employees). This included employees at all extended campuses.

Q: When was the survey administered?
A: ModernThink administered the survey from November 5-21, 2012.

Q: What will be done with the survey results?
A: Survey results will be crucial in UAA's institutional accreditation reporting and will be used to shape future policies, changes and improvements.
