Alaska PreMed Summit

The Alaska WWAMI Program, Alaska's School of Medical Education, will host the 2016 PreMed Summit for students, parents, school counselors and advisors on April 2, 2016 on the UAA campus.The purpose of the Alaska PreMed Summit is to provide information to anyone wanting to learn more about the process of becoming a physician. It is especially helpful for undergraduate and high school students, but non-traditional students, high school counselors, college advisors, and parents also benefit from the information that was presented.

Last Year's Summit

The 10th Annual Alaska PreMed Summit was held on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  The summit started in Rasmuson Hall (RH) with a continental breakfast and check-in at 9:00am. The day ended with hands on activities and tours of the Health Sciences Building (HSB) starting at 4:00pm and ending at 5:00pm. Both buildings are located on the UAA campus. See the 2016 agenda .

Participants of the 11th Annual Alaska PreMed Summit will have the opportunity to:

  • Listen to keynote speakers.
  • Listen to break out sessions geared to high school students, undergraduates, and non-traditional students.
  • Participate in a mock medical school interview.
  • Enjoy a provided lunch.
  • Win a door prize.
  • Tour the Alaska WWAMI Program facilities.
  • Participate in hands on activities.
