When will the course be offered?

The course is offered each semester with classes typically held in the evening in the first half of the semester and clinicals held in the second half of the semester on the weekend.  Current class schedules are available on UAOnline. This schedule is the most up to date and has complete class information available.

How much does the course cost?

The base cost of the course is $1404 excluding student fees, textbooks, and parking costs.  Students can expect approximately $1800 in course-related expenses.

Are there any course prerequisites?

Prospective students must meet writing and mathematics placement requirements.  Students are required to have an English placement of WRTG A090 or higher and MATH A055 or higher.  Prerequisites must be able to be verified through the Accuplacer exam, Aleks exam, or previous college credits. What are the requirements to be eligible for the course?

All students registering for this course will need to submit immunizations to the department prior to attending clinical practicum and pass a State of Alaska background check. I’m interested, how do I get started?

If you are a current UAA student and meet prerequisite requirements, please call the School of Allied Health at 907-786-4346 or email uaa_cnaprogram@alaska.edu to request department approval.  Upon approval, current students will be able to register for the course on UAOnline.

New students to UAA will need to apply for admission as a non-degree seeking student.  Applying for admissions as a non-degree seeking student is a free process. However, non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid.
