First-Time Freshman Certificate/Associate

Transfer/Returning Students: Certificate or Associate Degree Programs

  • All Final transcripts and test scores must be official and remain in an envelope sealed by the
    issuing institution. Students do not need to request transcripts from any University of Alaska campus.
    • Email Official transcripts from SECURE providers to admissions@uaa.alaska.edu
      (It is important to ONLY use THIS email address for official transcripts).
    • Mail official transcripts to UAA Office of Admissions,
      PO Box 141629, Anchorage AK 99514-1629
      • UAA does not accept FINAL transcripts by fax or email.
  • Students who wish to transfer college-level course work from institutions outside the United States
    or Canada must submit an official Credential Evaluation from World Education Systems. 
Certificate or Associate Degree (1-2 years)
Admission Requirements
 
Students with fewer than 30 college-level semester credits:
Qualifications (one of the following)
  • Have earned a high school diploma (no minimum GPA required); or
  • GED; or
  • Ability to Benefit Certificate (must be 18 years of age or older)
    • Students that have not graduated from a regionally accredited high school or earned a
      GED are not eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid.
Required Admission Documents
  • Admission application and $40 fee
  • Final high school transcript showing graduation date or GED test scores; or Ability to Benefit
    test scores
  • Official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges and universities attended
Students with 30 or more college-level semester credits:
Qualifications (one of the following)
  • Have earned a high school diploma (no minimum GPA required); or
  • GED; or
  • An Associate level degree; or
  • Ability to Benefit Certificate (must be 18 years of age or older)
    • Students that have not graduated from a regionally accredited high school, earned a GED, or earned an associate level degree previously, are not eligible to receive Federal 
      Financial Aid.
