Bookstore Positions: Cashier
Accurately ring sales on cash register under designated categories, process payments and make correct change. Reconcile and balance cash register transactions with forms of payment received. Price and stock merchandise as needed. Fill phone orders, mail them and process appropriate paperwork. Maintain neatness of salesfloor, cashwrap, and stockrooms. Greet all customers entering store. Provide excellent customer service to all customers. Identify items to be restocked and then restock accordingly. Be on time and present for all scheduled shifts. Work with coworkers in a respectful and team-oriented environment. Become familiar with all services or products provided or sold in the store. Be knowledgeable of University related information and/or know where to find such information. Other duties as assigned. Must be available for training. Ability to work at least four consecutive hour shift, starting either at 8am or ending at 6pm (7pm during fall and spring semesters). Will be required to take a simulated cashiering counting test.
Primary duty is the processing of new and used textbooks to be used for the upcoming semester. Need to be able to lift 25-60 lbs. with or without accommodations. Be able to stand for at least 4 hours. Learn the policies and procedures of the UAA Bookstore products and services provided at the Bookstore. Be self starting in the projects that need to be done. Handle questions from students, customers, either about the Bookstore or other areas of Campus. Maintain neatness of store and workstation. Customer service knowledgeable with positive attitude.
