Assisting You in Helping Your Students

"Think of the path our students take to their professional career as a camping trip. Our faculty does an outstanding job of 'filling the students 'backpacks' with the knowledge and practical skills they need to thrive once they reach their destination. At the Career Services Center, we provide the maps and compasses, and serve as guides for students conducting their career exploration." Michael E. Reeves, Former Director, UAA Career Services Center

Help provide guidance to your students in the area of their future career or internship. Register with the Career Services Center Online Job Database to gain access to job and internship postings and to receive periodic email updates about jobs, Career Services events, or employer information sessions.

The mutual goal of both Career Services and UAA faculty and staff is student success. By working together, faculty, staff, and Career Services can ensure that the transition from student to a member of the work force is as seamless as possible.

We Help Your Students Find the Right Fit

We help students determine the right career for their interests, career goals, skills, values, and personality. During their academic careers, students return to the Career Services Center to fine-tune essential career development and job-search skills. We are a student's best resource for job outlook, salary, and employment trend information.

"I wish to thank you for providing support for Alaska SkillsUSA. I very much appreciate the help you provided with the Job Interview Contest and your continued support of the Auto and Diesel Technology programs at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The event was a huge success this year and I heard many positive comments from the students."

We Know Employers Who Want to Know You

At the Career Services Center, we work directly with employers, who often ask for the contact information of faculty members who could help them to target students in a particular major or discipline. Ideally, employers would like to develop mutually beneficial relationships with faculty and can provide many forms of support. We can facilitate that connection. We also have resources to help faculty understand their ethical and legal responsibilities towards students.
