Who can use the services and resources at the UAA Career Services Center?
Most of our services are available for everyone to use, including the Career Resource Library, career fairs, the online job database, and any information or handouts on our website. Our Career Resource Library is open for use by students of all levels, alumni, and community residents during regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm. As of January 2013, we are only available to meet one-on-one with UAA students, alumni, or potential/soon-to-be students for resume, cover letter, mock interview, job search, or career counseling appointments. If you are a community member that would like one-on-one assistance, please visit the State of Alaska's Department of Labor website for information on their Job Centers' locations and resources. The Professional Clothes Closet is also only available for UAA students or alumni.
How much does it cost to use the Career Services Center's resources and services?
Nothing! As of right now, all of our resources and services are free for job seekers.
How do I find an internship?
Please see the internship webpage for more details on obtaining an internship. We also recommend that you make an appointment with a CSC the internship coordinator to begin get more details on the internship process.
What kinds of questions are interviewers going to ask me on my interview?
Make sure to prepare for your upcoming interview by checking out our handouts on interviewing skills or scheduling a mock interview with a CSC staff member. Make sure to always do plenty of research on the company and position before you go in for your interview so you are thoroughly prepared for all the types of questions the interviewers may ask you.
