This is the second semester course in the sequence for health science majors.

The course content includes common nomenclature of organic compounds, organic functional group reactions, biochemical processes and pathways, biological macromolecules and metabolites.

The prerequisite for this course is CHEM A103 with a minimum grade of C.  This prerequisite is strictly enforced. If you took CHEM A105 and earned a minimum grade of C you may be able to take CHEM A104.  Please contact the department's administrative assistant so that she can enter an override for you to allow you to register.

CHEM A104L is the laboratory component of this course and requires a separate registration. It is advisable to take the lecture and laboratory components during the same semester.
