Providence Early Learning LabThe Providence Early Learning Lab (PELL) is a partnership between The Providence Center for Child Development and the University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Teaching and Learning Early Childhood program. Under the supervision and guidance of UAA professors' preservice teachers majoring in Early Childhood will attend class on site and will observe, plan, and implement activities with young children. The mission of the PELL is twofold: to educate and prepare preservice teachers in a high quality environment; and to co-construct knowledge and refine best practices that improve the field of early education in communities throughout the State of Alaska. We are committed to engaging in meaningful, interdisciplinary research that makes a difference in the lives of children and families, preparing high quality early childhood teachers, and providing exemplary early education programs.
