The Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Dietetics & Nutrition Division is the premier training center for Alaska's hospitality and tourism industry. No other academic institution in the state offers a bachelor’s degree which trains students to meet the growing needs of this important sector of Alaska’s economy.
The culinary arts and hospitality and restaurant management programs help students acquire the culinary skills, management skills, and hospitality finesse needed to develop a career in the expanding hospitality and foodservice industry.
The division is also a leader in training dietetics professionals. It is the only program in the state that offers a
bachelor’s degree in dietetics and a corresponding graduate-level internship that prepare students to take the national registered dietitian exam.
Working hand-in-hand with industry leaders, the division’s faculty members develop curricula based on national standards. This translates into relevant training that prepares students to enter the job market ready to work.
The Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Dietetics & Nutrition Division is administered by the UAA Community & Technical College.
