Intent of the Proposed Change

  • To engage students in an educational process by requiring them to represent themselves during the board hearing.  
  • To de-emphasize the legal nature of the conduct process.
 

Current Policy

R09.02.040 - I

  1. An advisor for a student may be present and may represent the student during the hearing.
 

Proposed Revision

An advisor for a student may be present but may not represent the student during the hearing, nor speak or ask questions on the student's behalf unless authorized by the student conduct administrator.
