Workshop Series: Success, Next 3 Exits

If you are applying to college for the first time, transferring from another college or university, or returning to school after several years, the path to becoming a student at UAA can be confusing. To make the process easier to navigate, UAA has created a series of workshops for incoming students that will help you become a successful student at UAA.

Read below to learn more about these events and register. No matter what stage you are at these workshops will help you complete the process of becoming a student at UAA.

Please note that Welcome Sessions and Advising Sessions will be held at the University Center where parking is free! Refreshments will be provided for attendees.

Welcome Sessions

Step #1

UAA Welcome Sessions are for those students who are just beginning the process of becoming a student at UAA. If you have not applied for admission or financial aid, plan to attend to ensure that you are admitted for the term in which you would like to take classes. If you have applied but still have questions, you should also plan to attend to make sure you are on the right track. You are not required to stay for the duration of the session- if you would like to stop by for just a few minutes you are more than welcome to do so.

At these sessions, we will have staff available to help with the following:

  • Applying online
  • Admission questions
  • Financial aid concerns
  • Accuplacer testing
    • Note: If you plan to take the Accuplacer test, plan to arrive within the first hour of the event. Please keep in mind that this test costs $10, so you will need to bring a form of payment with you. For more information on the Accuplacer, visit
