My name is Rosa Choi, and I am a senior at University of Alaska Anchorage. I am originally from South Korea and a transfer student from Sung Shin Women’s University. My previous major in Korea was Clothing, and I am currently working on my Marketing (BBA) degree at UAA. Later on I want to be a fashion buyer and establish my own brand.
I love working as a Recruiter at UAA, and it has been a great place to pursue my degree. I have received a lot of support and help from my advisor, professors, friends, and awesome tutors at the Learning Resources Center. You will get to know that people at UAA are always willing to be there for you! I am a very active person, so I go out to run, camp, and hike. When I want to stay home, I cook, knit, draw, and make jewelries. If there is anything that I could help new students, I am up for it!
William "Al" Sharrow
Al Sharrow is a lifelong Anchorage resident and third generation Alaskan with family in Anchorage, Seward, and Kotzebue. Al spent his youth doing Alaskan stuff like hiking the Chugiach range, fishing Resurrection bay, and boating down the Chena River. In his free time, he likes to read, play guitar, and write about himself in the third person.
Al attended East and Service high school, and is currently working towards a bachelors degree in electrical engineering, with a goal of working as a power engineer someday. Al enjoys working as a student tour guide, as it gives him the opportunity to meet prospective students from all over the country and share his experiences in Alaska and at the university.
Samantha "Sammi" Alex
Sammy was born and raised in Juneau, AK where she graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School. She is an aviation technology major with an emphasis in management. She also is a private pilot. Sammy is an active member in student clubs such as Alpha Eta Rho and the UAA Glee Club. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, rock climbing, singing, and traveling.
When she graduates she wants to work for an airline or Boeing and eventually pursue more flying. For right now though, she enjoys working at school as a student tour guide because every day is something different. It allows her to meet all sorts of different people and she enjoys to see the prospective students on campus during the school year.
