An entrance exam may be required for admittance to the University of Alaska Anchorage Graduate School.  The type of entrance exam varies from program to program.  Please confirm with your academic adviser in your college or school the requirements for admission.

International Students

International students contribute greatly to the mission of the University of Alaska Anchorage.  It has become increasingly important for admission to provide an information framework regarding developments in global higher education.  Two common tests are used to evaluate international student's readiness to participate in the UAA Graduate Program by demonstrating their skill with understanding and writing the English language.

  • TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
  • IELTS - International English Language Testing System

There are four testing locations in the state of Alaska. 

Anchorage

  • Various exams required for Graduate School admittance are available at the Testing Services Department on the campus of the  University of Alaska Fairbanks.  The address is 207 B of the Gruening Building; College, AK 99775.  The phone number for this facility is 1-907-474-5277.

Ketchikan

  •  Exams required for Graduate School Admittance are available to students on campus at the University of Alaska Southeast.  The address is 2600 7th Avenue, Ziegler Building Room 203; Ketchikan, AK 99901.  The telephone number is 1-907-284-4560.
