Polaris Lecture SeriesThe UAA Honors College in collaboration with the Cook Inlet Historical Society presents the following lectures, held at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m..
Thursday, October 18, 2012, Alaska Day Polaris Lecture Bill McKay, former Alaska Senior Vice President, Susan Bramstedt, former Alaska Director of Public Affairs, and Marilyn Romano, current Alaska Director of Public Affairs for Alaska Airlines will speak on "Celebrating 80 Years of Alaska Airlines".
Thursday, January 24, 2013, Talis Colberg, Director, Matanuska-Susitna College will speak on "Frontier Exceptionalism".
Thursday, February 21, 2013, Terrence Cole, Professor of History, University of Alaska Fairbanks will speak on "Air Age Cartography: How Aviation and the Second World War Put Alaska at the Center of the World".
