University Honors College Admission

The University Honors College is open to all baccalaureate-degree-seeking students.  All students who believe that they can succeed and benefit in an honors program are encouraged to apply.  

Applications are accepted from both high school graduates and college freshmen and sophomores. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and show strong evidence of ability to reach and maintain a 3.5 GPA. Students should be placed in English A111 or above before registering for Honors courses. 

The University Honors College supports University of Alaska Scholars by offering automatic admission to UA Scholars upon application.

Application Process for the University Honors College:

1. Complete an application for admission to a bachelor's degree program at UAA.

2. Read the Honors Code of Ethics and sign the Pledge.

All applicants are required to review the University Honors Code of Ethics and sign the University Honors Ethics Pledge. The University Honors Code of Ethics provides guidelines for the conduct of students enrolled in the University Honors College at UAA.

3. Complete an Application for Admission to the University Honors College. Choose the appropriate application below:

a)  Regular Application for Admission and Scholarship-  For all students applying from high school or transferring into the program with previous college-level work.

b)  UA Scholars Application- If you are a University of Alaska Scholar, you will be automatically accepted into the College upon application.  (More information about the UA Scholars Program.)
