* The Academic Year rates are listed per semester. Housing and dining fees will be applied to your account at the beginning of every semester that you live in Housing. The academic year agreement extends through the Winter Break period from the beginning of the Fall semester to the end of the Spring semester.
Note: A $35 processing fee will be required from every student that submits a UAA Housing application. The $35 fee is not refundable and cannot be waived. A $200 deposit will be required with all signed agreements. All housing application fees and deposits will generally be paid in advance, however if an application fee or deposit is not included with a signed housing agreement, it may be assessed to the student's UAA account.
2009 - 2010 Meal Plan Memberships:
Under the block meal plans, the student has all semester to use these meals. The meals do not expire each week like the old retail plans from previous years. These plans are designed for maximum flexibility for the students. Students are able to use more than one meal per meal time. For example, if the student wishes to take a friend for dinner, they are able to do that and use a meal. If one of the teams is out of town, the athletes will not lose the meals they could not use that week. They can use them at a later date that semester.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods will be all-you-care-to-eat in the Creekside Eatery. Students will be able to use dining points in the Bear Necessities "C Store", Subway, Starbucks, coffee carts, and the Cuddy Cafeteria. Points may also be used to buy meals at in the Creekside Eatery at the walk-in price. Those students with a meal plan may also exchange a meal for a set equivalency, to be mutually agreed upon between the Contractor and the University, in the Cuddy Cafeteria. The Late Night Dining period will be the only meal period that will be retail dining in the Creekside Eatery. Dining points and a meal plan equivalency will be accepted at the Late Night dining period.
The "block" meal plans are as follows:
Block 75 + $800 in dining points - $1675 a semester
Block 100 + $700 in dining points- $1725 a semester
Block 150 + $600 in dining points- $1775 a semester
Block 200 + $400 in dining points- $1875 a semester
"Spirit" Plan: Block 50 + $200 in dining points** $735 a semester
For example, a student with the block 200 plan would have 200 meals to use by the end of the semester. If the student wanted to take 200 people to dinner on the first night they could, they just would not have any meals left the entire semester. Likewise, if that same student only used 100 meals all semester, they would lose the extra 100 meals at the end of the semester. We do encourage students to review their schedule, work hours, or anything else that might affect their meal plan so they can make an informed choice on a meal plan. If needed our dining department will also sit down with the student and help them work through which would be the best plan for them.
Note: All students living in the residence halls are required to have a meal plan membership. Apartment residents are not required to purchase a meal membership, however participating in one of the plans can be more convenient than grocery shopping and kitchen clean up!
** The "Spirit" Plan is available ONLY to residents of the MAC and Templewood apartments. Students living in the Residence Halls are required to choose from the Block 75, 100, 150 or 200 Plans.
All rates are effective as of March 5, 2009 for the 2009-2010 academic year, and are subject to change.
