Enjoy the Alaskan summer on campus

Thank you for your interest in the student housing at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

This page outlines living arrangements, the application process, and important dates. Please be sure to read this page completely, as it contains important information concerning housing availability. Should you have anyquestions, please feel free to call the University Housing office at (907) 751-7200 or email us at housing@uaa.alaska.edu.

The University provides approximately 75 single-person spaces in apartment-style housing for the summer sessions. To be eligible for a summer housing space, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits each summer session, or one 3-credit, 10-week course.

Student Housing

Each apartment contains a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom, in addition to four single-person bedrooms. Apartments are fully furnished, including a dishwasher, dining table, sofas, chairs, desks, and beds (mattresses are 36"x80").

Residents will need to provide their own linens, pillows, blankets, cookware, and eating utensils. There is a coin operated washer/dryer facility on-site. The apartments are about a 10-minute walk from the library, Student Union, sports center, and classrooms.

The Application Process

An application for a summer student housing space must be completed. A $40.00 non-refundable application fee is required to process your application. The date we receive your application along with the accompanying fee will determine your position on the waiting list.

Submitting an application and fee does not in any way guarantee a room assignment; however, every effort will be made to accommodate your room request given the limited number of spaces available.

Note: Receiving a room assignment for summer housing does not guarantee a room assignment for the fall semester or academic year.

Services for Students with Disabilities

A number of the apartments are specifically designed to accommodate students with both temporary and permanent disabilities. Please contact the University Housing office to discuss needs and obtain information on housing accessibility and services.
