Enjoy the Alaskan summer on campus

Thank you for your interest in the student housing at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

This page outlines living arrangements, the application process, and important dates. Please be sure to read this page completely, as it contains important information concerning housing availability. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the University Housing office at (907) 751-7200 or email us at housing@uaa.alaska.edu.

The University provides approximately 75 single-person spaces in apartment-style housing for students enrolled in summer sessions. To be eligible for a summer housing space, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits each summer session, or one 3-credit, 10-week course.

Guest Housing for Non-Students

UAA also offers economical guest lodging in the summer for non-students. Please see the UAA Conference Services website for more information on summer housing options.

Student Housing

Each apartment contains a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom, in addition to four single-person bedrooms. Apartments are fully furnished, including a dishwasher, dining table, sofas, chairs, desks, and beds (mattresses are 36"x80").

Residents will need to provide their own linens, pillows, blankets, cookware, and eating utensils. There is a coin operated washer/dryer facility on-site. The apartments are about a 10-minute walk from the library, Student Union, sports center, and classrooms.

The Application Process

An application for a summer student housing space must be completed. A non-refundable application fee and a $300 refundable deposit are required to process your application. Students living on campus for the Spring semester do not need to pay the $300 deposit, but do need to pay the application fee for summer housing.  The date we receive your application will determine your position on the waiting list.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a room assignment; however, every effort will be made to accommodate your room request given the limited number of spaces available.

Note: Receiving a room assignment for summer housing does not guarantee a room assignment for the 2014/2015 Academic Year.

Services for Students with Disabilities

A number of the apartments are specifically designed to accommodate students with both temporary and permanent disabilities. Students who experience disabilities and need housing-related adjustments or accomodations should notify the Housing Office and the Office of Disability Support ServicesClick here to view the steps involved in requesting housing adjustments through Disability Support Services.

Summer 2014 Housing Rates

$2,600 for both summer sessions. Rates will be prorated accordingly for students staying for only one 5-week session.

Note: A $50 non-refundable application fee and $300 refundable reservation/damage deposit is required at the time of application. All other housing charges will be applied to student accounts.
