The "Wait List"...
Campus Housing at UAA is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the date of application. Once all available space in the Residence Halls and Apartments has been assigned, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Your position on the waiting list is also determined by the date of your application.
As soon as the Housing office receives a cancellation, a member of the Housing staff will call the next student on the wait-list to offer a Housing assignment.* Staff will call the number provided on your application, during regular business hours, Alaska Standard Time. If a wait-list student cannot be reached, the staff will leave a message, and allow the student 24-hours to respond to the offer. Assignments not accepted within the 24-hour time frame will be canceled and offered to the next student on the list.
If you have changed your mind about living on campus, please contact the Housing office to remove your name from the wait list. This will help us more quickly accommodate students that are still waiting for housing space.
If you are not able to secure a Housing assignment for the Fall, we hope that you will consider joining the on-campus housing community for the Spring semester. Students on the waitlist for Fall are given priority for Spring housing assignments, and historically space does become available for the second semester. Please notify the Housing office if you would like to keep your application active for the second semester.
Thank you for your interest in campus living at UAA. If you have any questions about the waiting list or other issues regarding on-campus housing, please call (907) 751-7202 or email the Housing office.
We look forward to seeing you on campus!
*Please note, wait list order may also be affected by gender and age (drinking age). For example, a cancellation in a female room will be offered to the next female student on the list, a cancellation in a male-assigned room will be offered to the next male student on the list.
