It is important for students and exchange visitors to understand the concept of immigration status and the consequences of violating that status. Every visa is issued for a particular purpose and for a specific class of visitor. Each visa classification has a set of requirements that the visa holder must follow and maintain. Health/Medical Insurance Requirement

Acquiring and keeping current health/medical insurance is mandatory for all international students while in the US. Proof of coverage must be submitted by the end of the published registration add/drop deadline each semester (two weeks after regular classes begin).

• Health Insurance Requirements

Proof of insurance must be submitted in English and must be received by ISS (in-person or via email) before close of business on the due date. Failure to submit adequate proof of coverage will result in a hold on your student account. Students who miss this deadline must supply proof of one (1) full year of coverage (2 semesters or 12 months) before the hold will be lifted.
