The University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Journalism and Public Communications is pleased to announce Mike Doogan as the next Atwood Chair of Journalism. We look forward to welcoming this nationally known hometown journalist/writer/legislator. Mike is a UAA alumnus (M.F.A. '99) and spent nearly 14 years as a columnist for the Anchorage Daily News where he shared in a Pulitzer Prize for Journalism in 1989. He is also an award-winning writer of mystery novels. Our students are as excited to learn from Mike as we are to work beside him to strengthen our connections with Alaska's journalism community.
