The Department of Mathematical Sciences seeks to provide students with the training in Mathematics and Statistics. The Department offers baccalaureates (BA/BS) in Mathematics. It also offers undergraduate minors in Mathematics and Statistics for students majoring in another area. In addition, the Department delivers excellent service courses in statistics for other programs; courses that lead to minor in statistics; courses of advanced topics, and research advising for students across all disciplines. The Programs of the Mathematical Sciences Department are offered by the College of Arts & Sciences.

The mission of the Mathematics Program is, through excellence in instruction, quality research and scholarly activities, valuable and expert resources to the community, curriculum, and academic advising, to inspire our students to develop the knowledge and skills to understand, communicate and apply mathematical ideas.
