Study Abroad 101 Information Sessions

Take your first step!  Attend a Study Abroad 101 session!

Attending a Study Abroad 101 information session is your first step if you are interested in including an international education experience as part of your UAA academic program.  Come learn about the wide variety of exciting options, factors in choosing a program, the important role of your Academic Advisor, budget considerations, the types of financial aid available to help pay for your experience, and your next steps.

For sessions held in or near Rasmuson Hall, students may stay after the session to pick up catalogs for their destinations of interest.

Study abroad 101 sessions are typically held every two to three weeks throughout the year.  Parents, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend!

Global Opportunities Expos ("Study Abroad +")

NEXT Global Opportunities Expo (GOE):  October 2014 & February 2015

Twice a year, the Office of International & Intercultural Affairs puts on the Global Opportunities Expo to encourage students to explore the connections between study abroad, academic programs, and international careers (i.e., careers where knowledge of another language or having studied is highly beneficial or that involve the possibility of working abroad).  Events include drop-in table fairs in the Student Union and UAA Housing, game & pizza night with UAA's Language clubs, and special programs with the study abroad reps with time for questions and answers.

We think these events are so important that we have given them their own web page.  For the latest information, please visit the Global Opportunities Expos page of our website.
