Preview Days

Are you thinking about attending UAA after high school? Do you need help getting started? Then come to one of UAA's Preview Days on October 23, 2009 or February 5, 2010! These events are designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors and their guests and will help you get ready to go at UAA. More than 200 students attend these events annually from across Alaska and the Lower 48!

Preview Days offer students and their guests the opportunity to experience firsthand all that UAA has to offer. Students will attend a mock class, workshops on admissions and financial aid, and will be able to speak with current students about campus life as well as UAA faculty about academic programs. Guests will be able to speak with UAA administrators and will also attend a workshop on admissions and financial aid.

Preview Days Schedule

7:45am: Check-In and Registration (Wendy Williamson Auditorium)
Students and their guests will check-in and receive their materials for the day. If you have not registered, you can do so at this time.

Welcome to UAA! (Wendy Williamson Auditorium)
The fun begins as you hear from UAA's Chanellor, Fran Ulmer, who will tell you why it is great to be a Seawolf at UAA!

Question and Answer Session for Parents
Representatives from UAA Police, Admissions, Housing, Financial Aid, Residence Life, New Student Orientation, and Advising and Testing will answer your questions about UAA.

Classes for Students
Choose from a variety of classes and attend a class taught by one of many fantastic faculty members here at UAA.

Lunch, Workshops, & Majors Preview
Eat a lunch provided by UAA, then explore campus!

Explore Campus!
After lunch you will have the opportunity to explore UAA! You can attend the Major Preview to learn about acadmic programs at UAA, talk with student clubs and organization representatives, shop at the Bookstore for UAA gear, or take a tour of campus led by a current student. This is your opportunity to choose your UAA experience!

Optional Workshops
The following workshops are optional, but recommended for students and their guests who are interested in Study Abroad and National Student Exchange and/or the University Honors College and the UA Scholars Program. Each session will be offered at both times so students and guests can attend both sessions.

Preview Day concludes at 1:00pm.

Cost
There is no charge to attend UAA Preview Days. Everything is free, including parking on the UAA campus!

REGISTRATION FOR SPRING PREVIEW DAY WILL OPEN IN JANUARY. Please check this site for more information in January.
