Military Transfer Credit

Request for Evaluation of Military Training

Credits may be granted for formal service schools and the primary MOS/Rating as recommended in the Guide to the Evaluation of Education Experiences in the Armed Services prepared by the American Council on Education.

The Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOCAD and SOCOAST) program allows active-duty personnel to finish approved associate's and baccalaureate degree programs without losing credits as they transfer during their military careers.

To graduate from these programs, the residency requirement of 3 semester credits for the two-year programs and 24 semester credits for the four-year program and an overall GPA of 2.00.

 

Military Programs


The University of Alaska Anchorage supports military personnel and their families throughout the UAA service area through UAA Military Programs. With two locations on Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson (JBER), UAA offers courses for active-duty, National Guard and Reserve personnel, spouses, dependents, and DOD civilian personnel. Course offereings support completion of Community College of the Air Force degrees and courses leading to degrees offered by UAA. Classes are offered in a variety of classroom and distance formats.

UAA is a GoArmyEd school and participates in the Air Force Education Portal, Service Members Opportunity College and the My Career Advancement Program offered to spouses. UAA accepts DANTES and CLEP exams and evaluates military training for admitted degree-seeking students.
