Military Transfer CreditTo have your military credits evaluated for acceptance to UAA, please visit www.uaa.alaska.edu/records/registrarforms.cfm . Find the link titled "Military Training Evaluation Request". This form gives specific instructions on all the necessary documentation UAA requires to complete an evaluation of your military service credits. You must complete the request form and submit it to Enrollment Management. Refer to this form for additional required information and weblinks.
Up to 8 elective credits may be awarded to students who have completed one calendar year of active duty military service. In addition, credits may be granted for formal service schools and the primary MOS/Rating as recommended in the Guide to the Evaluation of Education Experiences in the Armed Services prepared by the American Council on Education. The Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOCAD and SOCOAST) program allows active-duty personnel to finish approved associate's and baccalaureate degree programs without losing credits as they transfer during their military careers. To graduate from these programs, the residency requirement of 3 semester credits for the two-year programs and 24 semester credits for the four-year program and an overall GPA of 2.00. Military Programs UAA is a GoArmyEd school and participates in the Air Force Education Portal, Service Members Opportunity College and the My Career Advancement Program offered to spouses.
