The University of Alaska Anchorage offers a training course through the CITI Program For The Protection of Human Research Subjects.
The course was designed by the Chair of the IRB to cover issues relevant to research at UAA. (Click on the CITI Program above to begin.)
This training is up-to-date and meets the federal requirements for training in human subjects protections.
The submission information is on the 'Submitting a Proposal' and 'Documents & Forms' links. Please contact Joanne Thordarson at 786-1099 or anjkt@uaa.alaska.edu for any submission or certificate questions or the chair, Dr. Claudia Lampman, at 786-1619 or afcbl@uaa.alaska.edu of the IRB for project/proposal questions.
An IRB training Certificate is good for three years. This Certificate is included when submitting a proposal to the IRB. Everyone (besides the Principal Investigator) doing the actual research also submit an IRB training Certificate with the proposal.
