UAA Governor William A. Egan Scholarship

The purpose of the Governor William A. Egan Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to students who are formally admitted into a Political Science or History degree-seeking program or who are members of the Forty-Ninth State Fellows Program at the University of Alaska Anchorage (Anchorage or Prince William Sound Community College campuses only).

Award amount is $500 per academic year

Qualifications:

  • Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
  • Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to their community.
  • Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
  • Applicant must be formally admitted into a Political Science or History degree-seeking program or a member of the Forty-Ninth State Fellows Program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
  • Applicant must plan on enrolling full-time (twelve (12) credits) at the University of Alaska Anchorage (Anchorage or Prince William Sound Community College campuses only).
  • Applicant may be an incoming or continuing student at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
  •  Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in the semester for which the award is made.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are Alaskan residents and have shown a potential for public service.
