Private Scholarships for UAA Students

  • The Alaska Community Foundation offers scholarships that are made possible by passionate community members committed to helping Alaskans pursue their education dreams. Each Scholarship has specific criteria, eligible UAA and Non-UA institutions/programs, deadlines, and required supplements. Application deadlines vary.

  • The PEO Chapter K Scholarship is available to females attending UAA, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and a minimum class standing of Sophomore. Award amount is $1,000 ($500 a semester). Fall application deadline is June 15th, spring application deadline is October 15th.

  • The Alaska Native Epidemiology Center, a department of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, is pleased to announce that it will be awarding scholarships for the University of Alaska Anchorage Master's of Public Health (MPH) Program. The scholarship will include the tuition, fees, and course materials for one course offered through the distance-learning MPH Program.   • Kodiak Electric Association is offering 17 scholarships to students. Each scholarship has specific criteria and eligible UAA (Kodiak campus) and/or Non-UA admission/enrollment requirements. All applicants must be receiving service – or have an immediate family member receiving service – from Kodiak Electric Association. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

  • The Export Council of Alaska is offering scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are Alaska residents and plan to pursue a degree in International Studies. A total of $5,000 will be distributed among students who are awarded the scholarship.

 

Alaska Scholarships

  • The American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska is pleased to announce their 2014 Scholarship Program. The ACEC will award up to $1,000 in a statewide scholarship competition. Deadline to apply is March 9, 2015.

  • The Alaska Community Foundation is proud to support Alaska students in their educational and career pursuits, through a number of scholarship opportunities: from students pursuing technology education, to nursing students. A wide range of students can benefit from ACF's scholarships. Deadlines to apply vary.

  • The ACLU Alaska foundation is pleased to offer The Joan Hamilton Memorial Scholarship: a $2500 award to a post secondary school. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist Alaska students who wish to pursue a career related to law in which she or he will advocate for Alaska Native rights and defend the civil liberties of the peoples of rural Alaska. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

  • The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Scholarship is proud to support Alaska students interested in the healthcare field. Deadline to apply is June 20, 2014 by 4:30 p.m.

  • The Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship provides scholarships for full-time undergraduate or graduate students, currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in the environmental (or natural) sciences, environmental technology, or environmental policy. There is one $1,000 award per year. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

  • The Alaska Space Grant Program is offering scholarships and fellowships to students (U.S. Citizens) majoring in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). Application requirements and award amounts vary between scholarships and fellowships. Deadlines to apply vary.

  • The Alaska Power Association is offering $1,000 scholarship opportunities and textbook stipends of up to $500 for Alaska residents attending college in Alaska who are studying engineering. Deadline to apply is May 9, 2014.

  • The Edward and Anna Range Schmidt Charitable Trust offers grants and emergency financial assistance for Alaska Native students of Earth and Environmental Science (internship support, travel and/or expenses related to workshops and science fairs, support needed to secure employment in science-related fields or emergency needs).   • The Alaska Water Well Association (AWWA) is offering an annual $500 award to an undergraduate who is an Alaska resident and is enrolled full time. Deadline to apply is May 5th of the year for which fall enrollment is planned.

  • The American Legion 40/8 is offering awards for full time nursing students who demonstrate financial need. Contact American Legion: 907-242-1530 for deadline information.

  • The Mat-Su Health Foundation Scholarship is open to students who have a primary residence in Mat-Su and have a major or other course of study linked to healthcare. Applications for Vocational Scholarships are accepted year-round. 2015/2016 application period to be announced. 

 

National Scholarships

  • The Aaron Seever Sales Scholarship is proud to support those in pursuit of higher learning and excellence in salesmanship. Every semester one qualified student will be selected to win $500 and an iPad mini. Fall semester deadline is September 30th, 2014; Spring semester deadline is January 31st, 2014.

  • The American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) will annually award up to two scholarship to assist a minority college student seeking their initial teaching certification and/or endorsement, and up to two scholarships to assist a minority graduate student seeking his/her administrative credential. Applicant must meet all general requirements. Deadline to apply is May 30, 2014.

  • The Abbot & Fenner Business Consultants are committed to continuing their efforts at helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed through annual scholarship awards of $1,000. Deadline to apply is June 14, 2014.

  • The ACLS Recertification Healthcare Training Scholarship Plan will be giving out a $2,000 scholarship to the author of the winning essay and one (1) complimentary pass each (valued at $275), to second and third placers. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2014.

  • AfterCollege currently offers over a dozen, major-specific, and inclusive scholarships that students may be eligible for. Deadlines to apply vary.

  • The American Welding Society offers scholarships available to students preparing for a career in the welding and related joining technologies. Deadline to apply is March 1st of each year.

  • Big John's Plumbing is pleased to offer a $1,000 Business Scholarship to a student planning to take business related courses. Deadline to apply is July 25th of each year.

  • The purpose of the Big Sun Scholarship 2014 is to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part, we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Deadline to apply is June 20, 2014.

  • The Campus Explorer Exclusive Scholarships award a $1,000 scholarship every month. Apply the 1st through the 30th of every month.

  •  The Clubs of America Scholarship Award for Career Success offers a $1500 award annually. Any current student of an accredited U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is welcome to apply. Deadline is August 31st, 2014.

  • Dietspotlight.com Scholarship Program is pleased to announce the availability of four scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. They will be awarded based on the quality of submitted essay. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2014.

  • The Annual Academic Business Scholarship is for students who are pursuing business related academic majors. Award: $1,000 per year. Deadline is April 1st of each year.

  •  The EJobApplications.com Scholarship is offering one lucky college student from any United States College/University a   chance to win $1,000. Deadline to apply is December 20th, 2014.

  • The Electrical Generating Systems Association is offering up to eight (8) David I. Coren Memorial scholarships to full-time students with a declared major related to the On-Site Power Generation industry. Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. Download the EGSA David I. Coren scholarship application here. Deadline is May 1st of each year.

  • The Foreclosure.com Scholarship is for students other than graduate, law, or incoming freshman. Awards range from $5,000-$1,000. Deadline is December 1st of each year.

  • The Graduate Program Scholarships are offering $1,000 scholarships to graduate students or recent graduate students. Awarded quarterly.

  • The GreenPal Business Scholarship is offering a $2,000 annual scholarship; you're invited to apply for the fall/winter award. Accepting applications beginning September 1, 2014.

  • The HubShout Internet Marketing Scholarship is designed to help students who are on the path to a business or marketing career that will involve online marketing. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to two qualified applicants. Deadline to apply is November 1, 2014.

  • The Inspirational Basketball Student-Athlete Scholarship offers $500 to help pay for college. This scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students. Write an essay about how you plan to balance your academics and sport's life while attending college. Don't forget to be creative! Deadline to apply is August 10, 2014.

  • The Institute for Humane Studies offers fellowships/scholarships to students with liberty-advancing research interests. Students may be undergraduate/graduate. Deadlines to apply vary.

  •  The Lexington Law Scholarship Program is offering two annual scholarships totaling $10,000. Each semester (spring and fall), one recipient will receive $5,000 to the institution of their choice. Deadline to apply is August 31, 2014.

  • The Marshall Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded annually to at least 40 young College graduate U.S. citizens. Successful candidates are able to study a wide range of subjects for a higher degree at any of Britain's universities. The 2015 Application will be available late spring 2014.

  • The 401K Business Financing Scholarship: MySolo401k.net is excited to offer a $1,000 scholarship award, to one eligible student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any accredited United States university, college, or trade school. Deadline to apply is December 15, 2014.

  • The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution awards multiple scholarships to students dedicated to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including, history, law, nursing, and education. Deadlines to apply and award amounts vary.

  • The NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation requires applicants to be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program, and have at least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors are not eligible. Deadline to apply is February 28, of each year.

  • The Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program is awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science-related field twice a year. A $1500 scholarship will be warded to one student for the Fall and Spring semesters. Deadline to apply for Fall 2014 is July 15, 2014.

  • The Nursing Home Abuse Prevention Scholarship is offering a $1,000 award to an eligible student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing. Deadline to apply is July 31, 2014.

  • NursesLink.org is offering three different scholarship awards twice every year! Application deadlines are October 31st for the Fall and April 30th for the Spring.

  • The Public Health Scholarships makes it possible to offset some of the costs of earning a public health degree by tapping into a variety of public health scholarship. Application processes, deadlines and award amounts vary.

  • The Rand Marketing Web Design Scholarship is offering a $1000 scholarship to enable one student chosen from all entries to pursue his or her education demonstrating a passion for design and creative submission. Deadline to apply is August 5, 2014.

  • The Reeves Law Group is pleased to announce their first annual scholarships contest. One student will be awarded $1,000 to be invested in his or her educational costs. Deadline to apply is July 1, 2014.

  •  The Solution Reach Scholarship is currently awarding two $4,000 scholarships annually. A successful candidate should illustrate knowledge of patient engagement technology and how it correlates in maintaining healthcare standards and improving health outcomes. Deadline to apply is August 18, 2014.

  • The 2014-2015 Fall Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Award is offering future science scholars an opportunity to win $10,000 in scholarship funding for the 2014-2015 Fall semester. Deadline to apply is August 1, 2014.

  • The William Gary Allen Scholarship invites you to share your vision of the "Home of the Future," in an essay and you may be eligible to be awarded a $1500 scholarship. Deadline to apply is October 31, 2014.


 

Social Media Scholarships

  • Cliffside Malibu Student Scholarships offer awards to students of many different interests and majors are invited to participate. This scholarship is open to high school seniors, undergraduate students, as well as graduate students. Award amount is up to $8500. This scholarship is ongoing and will be awarded each semester.

  • Data Recovery Scholarship is looking for creative geniuses to come out of the works to make a clever parody about their company. Award amount is $1,000. All requirements must be met to qualify for the scholarship. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2014.
