About Student Support Services (SSS)Our Motto: "Navigate to Graduate" Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally-funded TRiO Program at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Our mission is to assist 160 low-income and/or first-generation or disabled students per year to navigate (or persist) through, and graduate from, one of UAA's rigorous degree programs by providing an interconnected series of academic support services (academic skill development opportunities, professional and peer tutoring to master course content, and individual and group academic mentoring to build confidence). In this way, we help to navigate our students through to graduation. There is no cost for eligible students accepted into the program. We are located at 4500 Diplomacy Drive in Suite 105. Currently, there are over 1,000 SSS programs across the nation. Although each program differs in culture, we all share the same purpose: to retain and graduate the students we serve. Attached is our 2011-12 Policies and Procedures Manual and End-of-Year Report for 2011-12.
