Question for Betty.

Does UAA offer psychiatric appointments for college students during the summer and the rest of the school year?

Betty's Answer.

The Student Health and Counseling Center employs mental health staff 12 months of the year.  Students are eligible for services up to two weeks prior to the start of the semester for which they are enrolled in six or more credits and up to two weeks after completing the semester for which they are enrolled. Call for specific calendar dates.  Students are also eligible to pay a fee for access if they are not attending UAA but were enrolled in the prior semester and intend to be enrolled in the next semester.  One example of this is a student who does not attend class during summer semester but attended in the spring and intends to attend in the fall.  The student is responsible for the student access fee in order to utilize services during the semester they are not enrolled in classes.
