I really love eating pasta, but I read a lot about how carbohydrates can cause weight gain and make me fat? What is your advice?
This is a myth. Carbohydrates are not what makes you fat - it's the extra calories. Many carbohydrates are an important part of a healthy diet, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. The problem is not the pasta but the amount of pasta you eat. Think about the last time you ate pasta in a restaurant and I'll bet the portion was 3 times the normal.
My advice is that pasta in moderation, 2 to 3 ounces of uncooked noodles per person, is good. For protein add fish, chicken, or beans. Add vegetables to your tomato sauce or make a salad to go along with your pasta dish. You may also want to try the whole grain pasta that is available. Enjoy that pasta!
