I have been coughing for about 3 weeks now. The first week I was really sick with a fever and on going chills. I am better now but constantly cough throughout the day. Is there any way to stop this cough?
It is indeed time to be seen by a health care provider for your continuing cough. This cough may be due to a viral infection, such as influenza or a bacterial infection such as whooping cough (pertussis). It also may be due to asthma, postnasal drip or gastrointestinal reflux. Pertussis has paroxysms of coughing, more frequently at night, may have inspiratory "whoop", and often posttussive vomitting. It is important to be seen by a health care provider to evaluate your respiratory status. Yes, we can get your cough to stop.
