I have high blood pressure. Can I come into the Student Health Center for treatment?
Yes, if you are a UAA student currently enrolled in six or more academic credits and have paid the UAA Student Service fee, you are eligible to be seen by one of our nurse practitioners. High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is a serious illness that if left untreated can cause life-threatening illnesses like kidney problems, stroke, heart failure, blindness and heart attacks. Call the SHCC today for an appointment.
