There are a wide variety of intestinal parasites. Tapeworms occur worldwide and species vary from those found in raw or undercooked meat, and in fish. Other worms include roundworms and pinworms. Symptoms vary from no symptoms to finding segments of the parasites in stool. Wth a heavy infection, symptoms may be abdominal pain, diarrhea, anorexia, anemia and itching to anus.
The Student Health and Counseling can diagnose intestinal parasites with obtaining stool specimens. Make an appointment for evaluation.
