The Department of Theatre and Dance is currently hiring for three faculty positions.

Assistant Professor of Performance
The UNIVERSITY of ALASKA ANCHORAGE Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Performance to begin August 2015. We are seeking an actor/director and collaborator. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester in the areas of acting, movement, and voice, with opportunities to offer additional classes in areas of specialization. Secondary area of expertise in directing is highly desirable.  Responsibilities include directing 1 to 2 productions per year, as well as a commitment to community outreach. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active professional career fitting an Assistant Professor. This position requires an MFA in an appropriate field of Acting/Performance and 2 years of teaching experience.  Preferred qualifications include training and experience in the craft of acting and other related forms and styles, a passion for teaching majors and non-majors in the early stages of their training, and an interest in developing and implementing curricula related to a culturally diverse population.

Assistant Professor of Directing/Theatre History/Literary Specialist
The UNIVERSITY of ALASKA ANCHORAGE Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Directing/Theatre History/Literary Specialist to begin August 2015. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester in the areas of directing, theatre history, and theory, with opportunities to offer additional classes in areas of specialization. Responsibilities include directing 1 to 2 productions per year, as well as a commitment to community outreach. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active professional career fitting for an Assistant Professor. This position requires a MFA in an appropriate field, PhD preferred, with 2 years of teaching experience.  Preferred qualifications include training and experience in the craft of stage directing and other related forms and styles, a passion for teaching majors and non-majors in the early stages of their training, and an interest in developing and implementing curricula related to a culturally diverse population.
