ETS is also strongly encouraging our students to take advantage of the summer to move forward in coursework, and is promoting these options for students and families to consider. Students in these courses are welcome to attend the ETS Study Hall, where they can have support getting started with the coursework.
ASD iSchool courses: These courses are for students who want to take a class they've never taken before. Courses are online, so students must have access to a computer and internet. They cost $100 each, but fee waivers are available to families who qualify. ETS strongly recommends taking Alaska Studies, an English Elective, or a Social Studies elective. You can only complete 1 semester of coursework during the summer, so you can't move ahead a whole math or science level using these courses. To register, students complete the attached iSchool paperwork and turn it in to their school counselor. For more information, visit https://www.asdk12.org/schools/asdischool/pages/coursesSummer2015.html.
ETS strongly recommends the Algebra Readiness courses for students who want to place into a higher math course for fall.
ASD Summer School courses: These courses are for students who want to retake a course for a better grade. Students should talk to their school counselors for more information.
