The Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs facilitates discussion around a variety of institutional-level initiatives. These discussions engage the campus communities around a topic, providing an opportunity for leadership to gain a broader perspective and assisting them to determine next steps. Conversation with the Provost: University of the Arctic

On February 18, 2014, OUAA hosted a conversation with the UAA community and Provost Elisha Baker about the University of the Arctic (UArctic). UAA is a collaborating member of UArctic and several UAA faculty actively participate in UArctic teaching, researching, and networking. The conversation aimed to generate ideas about how UAA can better support current and future work through the organization.
 

HERS Women's Leadership Network Application Process

Fall 2013

OUAA assists in supporting the UAA HERS Women's Leadership Network, a Chancellor's Cabinet initiative. In fall 2012, the UAA Chancellor's Cabinet established the UAA HERS Women's Leadership Network, which instituted an application process to select UAA women leaders to attend HERS summer institutes. In fall 2014, after an open application process, a committee of past HERS participants selected six women leaders to be funded by the Chancellor's Cabinet. 

Information sessions for the 2015 HERS summer institute application process will be held in fall 2014.

Conversation with the Provost: ePortfolios

On October 25, 2012, OUAA hosted a conversation with the UAA community and Provost Elisha Baker about electronic portfolios (ePortfolios). The aim of the conversation was to follow up on the work of the 2010-2012 ePortfolio Working Group and assist the Provost in determining next steps. Following the conversation, an ePortfolio Services Coordinator position was created to research, implement, and support the use of ePortfolios at UAA.
