Program Accreditation

When available, many individual programs seek program accreditation, which evaluates programs based on discipline or profession based standards. Students who complete an accredited curriculum enjoy additional confidence that experts in that field have evaluated the program and testified to its quality. Program accreditation may also enable students to more easily obtain professional certifications or registration.

More than 60 of UAA's academic programs have approval and/or accreditation from agencies external to UAA.

Seeking or Maintaining your Program Accreditation

OUAA assists programs initiating and maintaining programmatic accreditation, by offering guidance on making effective arguments in program accreditation materials, tracking program accreditation statuses, and assisting departments preparing for site visits.

If you are considering seeking new program accreditation or working on maintaining your already existing program accreditation please contact:

Megan Carlson, Assistant Vice Provost and Accreditation Liaison Officer

To assist programs in making the best possible case and to ensure that UAA's program accreditation records are complete, all communication with accrediting agencies regarding new and existing program accreditation is routed through the college and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) before being submitted to the external organizations.
