Col. David G. Fitz-Enz is author of the book The Final Invasion: Plattsburgh, the War of 1812's Most Decisive Battle and he co-produced and wrote the television program The Final Invasion for PBS and authored the companion book. For 30 years he was a regular Army officer and retired in 1993. Among his decorations is the Soldier's Medal for "Heroism," the Bronze Star for "Valor" in combat and the Air Medal for sustained aerial combat and the Legion of Merit. In 1984, he was appointed special assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe and in 2001 he received "The Distinguished Writing Prize" from the Army Historical Foundation for his book The Final Invasion. Everyone is invited to this free event; light refreshments offered. Free parking available.
