Social Study of Medicine Lecture Series - 'Bitter Medicine' March 23Judd Walson is an assistant professor in global health at the University of Washington. In this talk, Walson will explore three case studies of global health challenges (malnutrition, HIV and tuberculosis). Using initial contact with the health care system, Walson will explore community and social drivers of health that culminate in disease. He will discuss barriers and opportunities to addrss these challenges.

Discussing this talk will be Rhonda M Johnson, professor and chair in the Department of Health Sciences at UAA, and coordinator of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program geared toward northern and circumpolar health.
