For a current UAA student:

As a current UAA student prior to acceptance into the program, success begins with talking to an advisor who can help you with the transfer process and select courses to achieve your goals. Contact Crickett Watt in the main engineering school for an advising appointment. She will help you evaluate which classes will best prepare you for the math, science and english requirements.

For a new/transfer student:

If you are a new or transfer student, success begins with talking to an advisor who can help you through the process. Contact Crickett Watt in the main engineering school for an advising appointment. If you have not already applied, the steps to applying can be found here on our advising page.

If you are a foreign transfer student you will need to talk personnel in our International Student Services department.

For a high school student:

The 3 major areas of preparation for a high school student are:

  • math
  • english
  • physics

As a high school student, completing requirements in math throughout your high school curriculum which enable you to begin the program with calculus gives you the greatest advantage for our program. Geomatics program requirements begin with calculus. Our physics program requirements begin with Physic 111. Taking high school physics will give you the greatest preparatory advantage. English requirements begin with English A111, written communication. College prep reading and writing course will best prepare you for this course.
