The American College Testing (ACT) is a standardized entrance exam that tests students’ knowledge on the four following categories: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Scientific Reasoning. ALEKS is a math and statistics placement assessment taken prior to registering for your first class. This assessment will allow you to be placed into the correct course in mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative subjects. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a standardized entrance exam that tests students’ knowledge on the three following categories: Reading, Writing and Language, and Mathematics. The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a standardized, multiple choice exam completed by students entering the UAA Dental Hygiene or admitting to the UAA School of Nursing. The TEAS tests students’ knowledge on the four following categories: Reading, English and Language Usage, Science, Mathematics. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test that measures your knowledge and application of your English language skills. The Graduate Admission Test (GMAT), is a computer adaptive test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal and reading skills in written English for use in Admission to graduate management programs. This test is offered only at the JBER Military testing center by Pearson Vue.  To Schedule visit the Pearson Vue site and select test on a military base.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) offers the computer-based General Test for admission to graduate, business and law school programs. The GRE General Test scores students’ knowledge on three of the following subjects: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing. 

The UAA Testing Center also offers paper-based GRE subject tests. This test is intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Psychology.
