Starting A Business

The UAA Small Business Development Center will be teaching Starting a Business on April 17 in the Northrim Conference Room located at 3111 C Street, 1st Floor. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This class will cover the essentials in small business start up including information access, legal aspects, business insurance, bookkeeping, marketing and finance options. Meet and learn from community professionals who willingly share their knowledge in this first step toward business success. There is a $45 participation fee. The UAA Small Business Development Center will present Quickbooks on April 20 from Noon to 5 p.m. at UC 149. This hands on beginner class gives an overview of basic set up to the new user including invoicing, account receivables and payables. Participants will learn to use the necessary accounting tools and be able to set up their own working accounting system. Working knowledge of basic Windows skills is required with a $65 participation fee. Pre registration and pre payment is required by calling (907) 274.7232 or sending an e-mail to anlb1@uaa.alaska.edu.
