Welcome to DSS!
October is Disability Awareness Month!
Tuesday October 11th, 10am-4pm stop by the Disability Awareness Fair in the Student Union for information from vendors, UAA departments and community agencies.
Wednesday October 12th, join us 7pm-9:30pm in Rasumon Hall Room 106 for the movie Deaf Jam presented by DSS and the Multicultural Center. Parking is Free.
Thursday October 13th, come to a panel discussion in the Student Den from 5:30p-7:30 pm where staff, faculty and students who experience disabilities will discuss their perspectives.
The mission of Disability Support Services (DSS) is to empower, support, and advocate for students who experience disabilities by partnering with the University community in the provision of equal access to all curricular and co-curricular programs, facilities, services, and activities.
Disability Support Services (DSS) coordinates the support services for UAA students who experience disabilities, as well as provides resources for the university and community. Providing equal opportunities for students who experience disabilities is a campus-wide responsibility and commitment.
Students requesting accommodations for the first time need to make an appointment with our office to establish eligibility. Early planning is encouraged to allow DSS staff adequate time to make the necessary arrangements for support services.
Once eligibility has been determined, students login to the DSS Online System to make specific requests each semester.
