Update on Applications and Availability for Upcoming Semesters

Fall 2021:  With the anticipation that COVID-19 numbers will fall with the distribution of vaccines, we expect that campus will be more open this fall. Therefore, campus housing will not be restricted as it has been this past year. The Housing Application for the 2021-22 Academic Year is now open and available for any student. Occupancy will return to normal capacity, filling private bedrooms in most suites and apartments. Visit the How-to-Apply webpage for more information about accessing applications for student housing.

Summer 2021: Summer 2021 will continue at restricted occupancy as it has this past year. Only applicants meeting certain exception criteria such as an in-person class, inadequate internet access at home, or other collegiate obligation to be physically on campus will be approved for campus housing. Students meeting one of the above criteria who are interested in living on campus can complete an Interest in Summer Housing Form found on their Housing Page on UAOnline to request consideration for campus housing. Once you've completed the appropriate form, Residence Life staff will follow up with you on next steps.

If you have any questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to contact Residence Life at 907-751-7202 or via email at uaa.residencelife@alaska.edu

Explore Options In UAA's Residential Community

When you live on campus, your classes, the library, and campus activities are just a short walk or bike ride away. With on-campus housing you also have the added conveniences of on-site laundry facilities, cafeteria, and convenience store located right within your housing complex.

Consider the hidden costs of living off-campus: large security deposits, cable hook-ups, heating and electricity bills, groceries, trash removal fees, gas and transportation costs, etc. Now consider living on campus: with only a $300 deposit, and your internet, heating, electricity, trash removal, and basic maintenance all included in one predictable semester charge. Plus with the addition of a meal plan, you won't have to spend your time grocery shopping or cooking!

Get Involved with UAA

Numerous campus activities for on-campus residents as well as easy access to UAA events make our residential community the heart of the engaged student community. Find out how to engage with campus activities, explore job opportunities for on campus residents, and even consider joining the student governing body for our residential community: Residence Hall Association.

All on-campus housing facilities are staffed with professional and student personnel who provide guidance, support, and academic and social programming to help you achieve success as a student at UAA and in the future. Additionally, dedicated learning and lifestyle communities are available to help residents connect with peers of similar goals, interest, and backgrounds.
